Senior U.S. and South Korean officials have met in Seoul to discuss the DPRK.
U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy, Sung Kim, and South Korea's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, Kim Hong-kyun met on Tuesday amid ongoing military exercises.
South Korea said discussions included the DPRK's nuclear programme.
The South Korean Foreign Ministry said the two allies agreed to maintain close cooperation to strengthen pressure and sanctions against the DPRK.
Special Representative Sung Kim also met with South Korea's Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se. After the meeting, Kim said the DPRK should refrain from all provocative actions. He said UN resolutions ban Pyongyang from carrying out any nuclear and ballistic missile tests.
