Samsung says it has permanently2 halted production of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone after continued overheating problems.

The company issued a worldwide recall of Galaxy Note 7 devices in early September after receiving several reports of overheating problems. The overheating was linked to problems with batteries that caused some phones to catch fire.
