The United States and the European Union have agreed to end their nearly 17-year trade dispute over government aid to Boeing and Airbus.

Since 2004, the U.S. and the EU have argued that government aid to the plane makers1 brought unfair competition. The dispute became more heated under former U.S. President Donald Trump2.
