(单词翻译:双击或拖选)
Another American company moving into China is Wal-Mart. The American store chain is bidding one billion dollars to buy one hundred "hypermarkets" (a combination1 of supermarket and department store) in China from Trust-Mart, a Taiwanese company. Although Wal-Mart recently pulled out of Germany and South Korea, they hope to become the number one hypermarket chain in China, ahead of the French company Carrefour, which also made a bid for Trust-Mart. The news back home was not as good for Wal-Mart. 200 employees in a Florida store staged a walk-out to protest2 new policies, and the store chain was embarrassed by the disclosure that they were secretly paying the authors of the weblog "Wal-Marting Across America" to write nice things about them.
