 Australian military personnel and fight jets will begin being deployed¹ to the Middle East this week. Speaking from Arnhem Land Prime Minister Tony Abbott as usual has told the mission has clear and achievable objectives. 

 

It's to work with the Iraqi forces, to work with the Kuidish forces, as to assure they are reasonably able to control their own country, to protect their own citizens, and to disrupt the grid² IS operations in Sauth Iraq.

Britain's prime minister's taking a more cautious approach to the issue. David Cameroon has wanted to hunt down and bring to justice those responsible for beheading British aid worker David Hams. While Britain is backing the international coalition³ against the IS, it's yet to commit to air strikes. 

 

A team of volunteers from Sydney will head to New South Wales midnorth coast today to join the search for missing 3-year-old William Tyrell. Police aren't ruling out the possibility he's been abducted⁴. William Tyrell disappeared from his grandmother's home in Kendall on Friday.  

 

Air safety investigators⁵ will arrive today at the site of a fatal plane crash of Maji in the central west of New South Wales. A Victorian couple aged⁶ in their 60s died when the single engine plane came down in a panic while trying to land at Maji airport.
