Lesson44 Joyce's Story of Time Management
Time management is the greatest challenge1 for me in high school. I have tobalance my subjects, activities, social life, and rest. I often get intoarguments with my family members just because I didn't plan my time well. For instance2, I may yell3 at them for disturbing me when I'm working and Imay blame them when I miss deadlines, even though it's actually my faultfor cramming4 everything in at the last minute. There is one thing that I always make time for: watching TV. It's a wayfor me to relax. I think the best trick to deal with time management is theclassic “break it into bits.” It's really important for you to learn howto break a big project into small, manageable tasks. Then you can workprogressively and have a sense of achievement whenever you're done with asmall part.Another trick is to devise5 a timetable for yourself. It doesn't have to beone that you follow faithfully. It's just there to serve as a guide. Youcan compare your actual schedule with the planned one to see how well youactually use your time. A final tip is to always set deadlines for yourself.
