2017年CRI New Prospects for China-US Cooperation in Africa

After the first face-to-face meeting between Chinese president Xi Jinping and US president Donald Trump² in Florida this April, the two countries have been coordinating³ closely over a series of high-profile events, including the 100-day plan aimed at addressing the trade imbalance between the two, as well as the US sending a delegation⁴ to the 1st Belt and Road Forum⁵ for International Cooperation held here in Beijing.

Concerning the cooperation on the Belt and Road initiative, experts believe there's potential for China and the US in collaborating⁶ in the area of African development. What's more, the trilateral cooperation among China, the US and Africa will not only be conducive⁷ to the stability in Africa but also to the sound development of Sino-US relations.
