Twenty leading Brazilian contemporary artists will showcase their most impressive creations in Beijing this December.
Preparations for the exhibition, named Troposphere, are underway.
Born in Shanghai and raised in San Paulo, a large metropolis1 in Brazil, Sarina Tang is the curator of the upcoming exhibition. She puts emphasis on a Brazilian artist's work.
"Since it reflects my personal background of China and Brazil, it's very meaningful to me to be able to bring about this exhibition. It's really the first time to introduce Brazilian art into China. I chose the art from Brazil that I feel would be interesting for Chinese audience. (For example), St Clair Cemin, he is presenting 20 sculptures that tell the story of Oedipus, an ancient Greek story. He feels that there's so much in common between the legends of Greece and ancient western world and the Chinese ancient legends and myths and stories."
According to the Beijing Minsheng Art Museum, where the exhibition is going to take place, both the Chinese and Brazilian governments have given lots of support for the exhibition and ensured the event was included in a high-level cultural and personnel exchange and dialogue between China and Brazil.
Twenty contemporary artists from China will also display their works alongside their Brazilian peers, creating a direct one-to-one connection between the artists of these two countries.
