144 calamities1 maybe fool the world
The mighty2 mammoth3 once was the largest mamo of them all, a sight of magnificence, if not to say majesty4, as it strolled across the primoridy of landscape. But where have they gone, those mighty beasts? One theory is that some malign5 organism caused that majestic6 mammoth demise7. Another is that there was some serious flaw in the mammoth’s genetic8 makeup9, leading to a gradual decrease in fertility rates. Yet another is that a medial of large magnitude struck earth. The resulting dust cloud hit the planet in darkness lasting10 for many years. This magnified devastation11 by leading to a major decline in the yield of wild maze12, their major source of protein. If that be so, the beasts would have gradually and painfully died of malnutrition13. Natural calamities such as medial strikes luckily are rare occurrences. Much more frequent are malicious14 attacks by the arranged people who, for some reason or other, have become seriously malcontent15, in days of old a simple tool such as a mallet16 would often be those maniacs’ means of attack. With increasing scientific and technological17 progress alas18, they increasingly went their malevolent19 intent by the release of poisonous gas or organisms, resulting in serious malady20 or even death for many. In some crowded mall or station concourse, what could be the causes for such acts of malice21? One wonders. Mercifully, those criminals spent most of their energy and ideological22 in doctrination, leaving insufficient23 time for the maintenance of their equipment. Cases of malfunction24 are therefore fairly common, causing the attackers designed to be thwarted25.
