178. The projecting engineer突出的工程师 proficiency1-pronounced
There was a promising2 young engineer who was proficient3 in the use of the projector4. The primary use of his projector was to proliferate5, promote, and promulgate6 his engineering projects. As a projectionist8, his proficiency was profound. He could use profiles, prolonged figures, projecting figures, and make them all very pronounced. There was a progression to his projections9. He would begin with a profuse10 use of slides and progress to a progressive use of colors and shapes. He would also use multiple projectors11 with which he would project images on several walls simultaneously12. He could also create a very dramatic effect by sequencing the projections around the room. He would never include anything prohibitive, such as pornography, as it would result in his boss prohibiting him from using the projector again.
The engineering staff at his company enjoyed these performances and looked forward to every staff meeting. They would cancel appointments, break luncheon13 dates, forego racquet ball games anything just to attend a performance. The only problem was that he was prone14 to prolonging the meetings. Once he gave a performance that lasted for nearly two hours. His workmates were completely enthralled15, and none of them complained. However, since this projector performance interfered16 with his workmates’ work, his superiors agreed to limit his shows to one hour. Therefore, he was often urged by his boss to be prompt with its use.
The engineer was prominent in his field, and it was largely due to his prolific17 use of the projector.
