我们都知道catch作动词时有许多意思。

catch表示接住，抓住。
Catch the ball!把球接住！
catch,逮捕。

The policeman caught the thief⁴.警察逮住了小偷。
catch表示撞见，偶然发掘。
The police³ caught him stealing⁵ a bike.他正在偷自行车时被警察撞见。
