Lesson 11 Talk About It
October 24
Sam and Mary were walking back to their apartment2 after a long day of classes.
Usually the park they walked through was3 quiet, but not today.
Today they heard someone4 shouting, which worried5 them.
The shouting got6 louder, and they saw7 an elderly man ahead8 of them.
He seemed9 to be shouting at someone near him, but no one was there.
"What's going10 on?" Sam asked.
"Maybe we should get closer."
The man was walking very slowly12, so it was easy for Sam and Mary to get closer.
After following13 him for a minute, the girls thought14 he was just wandering15 around.
He would16 start and stop for no reason17.
He walked one way and then the other.
He was wearing some house slippers18, not outside shoes.
He saw the elderly man and began to talk to him.
Sam and Mary couldn't hear what he was saying20.
The young man touched the elderly man's shoulder.
Then the old man began shouting at him very loudly and tried to hit the young man.
The young man stepped21 back and quickly walked the other way.
The elderly man kept on wandering.
"Do you think he's dangerous?" Mary asked.
"I think he's confused," answered Sam.
"What do you think we should do?"
