1. Police in New York have made a major drug trafficking bust¹ at JFK Airport. Eighteen people including at least eight airline workers have been charged with helping² to smuggle³ heroin⁴ and cocaine⁵ through the airport. Most of the drugs came from the Dominican Republic and were hidden in luggage.

2. A nationwide manhunt for an alleged⁶ child molester⁷ is over. Chester Stiles was arrested in Nevada during a traffic stop and he is now scheduled to appear in court. Stiles is accused of molesting⁸ a three-year-old girl and recording⁹ it on videotape.

3. A lack of rain throughout the south means many states are now facing a punishing drought. Experts say the lack of rain is threatening the water supply in the region and water use has been restricted for many communities.

4. Thanks to a few nickels put into a slot machine, this North Dakota man is nearly 3 million dollars richer. He hit a big jackpot. He plans to build a new ice fishing house and pay off some debts.
