Violence is spreading throughout Egypt as riot police swept away camps of supporters of ousted¹ president Mohammed Morsi. Two journalists were among the dozens killed.

A federal judge has sentenced former Congressman² Jesse Jackson Jr. to 30 months in prison. Jackson pleaded guilty to charges that he engaged in a scheme to spend 750,000 dollars in campaign money on personal items.

A lightning-sparked wildfire has destroyed 13 homes and threatens hundreds of others near a Utah resort town. The fire has grown to more than 1,200 acres.
