Travelers are advised to seek shelter and get off the roads from Iowa to Massachusetts. Another major snowstorm is about to blanket the entire upper Midwest and New England with upto a foot of new snow. Blizzards¹ conditions developed in Chicago could see that foot of snow by tonight.

Fighting flared² again in EasternUkraine as Russian-backed separatists attacked an important railway hub. Heavy military equipment was seen moving up to government positions. 13 government troops were reported killed, no word on rebel casualty.

Two climbers who fell while trying to scale Mount Hood³ on Saturday are lucky. A rescue team was on atraining mission nearby when that accident occurred. Both climbers sufferedbroken bones and are recovering at a nearby hospital.

And high on the remote mountain near Bucharest,Romania, priests have blessed a church made entirely⁴ of ice. Build each winter for the past few years, priests have performed baptisms and weddings in the Ice Church.
