The governors of New York and New Jersey1 say it's too soon to know whether a safety system, known as Positve Train Control, would have helped prevent Thursday's crash in Hoboken. The system is designed to automatically slow or stop trains that are going too fast. One woman was killed and a hundred others injuried in the commuter2 train crash.
The CDC is urging people to get their flu vaccines3 and get them early to prevent serious conditions brought on by the virus. They say the flu virus often doesn't get the respect it deserves. And it sends hundreds of thousands to the hospital each year.
President Barack Obama welcomed Team USA olympians and paralympians to the White House following their successful performances. The president celebrated4 Team USA's impressive win of 46 gold medals during the summer games in Rio.
And the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge continued their Canadian tour with a children's party in Victoria. Prince William and Kate were joined by their children, Prince George and Prince Charlotte, who were delighted by the balloons, bubbles and mini horses.
