The Senate appears headed for a showdown over President Donald Trump's Supreme1 Court nominee2. Democrats3 have secured the votes for a filibuster4 to block the nomination5 of Neil Gorsuch, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is poised6 to change long-standing Senate rules -- the so-called "nuclear option" -- to get Gorsuch confirmed.
The White House is condemning7 what it describes as a heinous8 chemical attack against civilians9 by the Syrian government. Spokesman Sean Spicer said the attack is reprehensible10 and cannot be ignored by the civilized11 world.
A spring storm has dumped up to a foot of snow in some parts of Colorado. Forecasters had predicted about an inch, but the snowstorm dumped at least 8 inches in Denver and up to a foot in the mountains.
And a stunning12, almost 60-carat diamond known as "The Pink Star" sold for a record 71.2 million dollars at a Sotheby's auction13 in Hong Kong on Tuesday. The sale of the oval mixed-cut diamond reportedly set a new world record for any diamond or jewel sale.
