Police say a man traded gunfire with the officers in a lobby of the Trump¹ National Golf Course in Doral, Florida. The suspect was shot and taken into custody². One officer was injured.

North Korean state-run media showed video of Kim Jong Un leading a meeting of military officials. South Korea says it believes the north wants to improve relations even though Kim's government pulled out of recent North-South talks.

A Las Vegas mall was evacuated³ after police received calls about a man wearing a mask and carrying a long gun. Police made an arrest but say the gun appears to be fake.

And authorities on Hawaii's Big Island are handing out masks to protect people from breathing volcanic⁴ ash. Volcanic eruption⁵ early Thursday shot a plume⁶ of ash about 30,000 feet in the air.
