President Donald Trump's plan to pull US troops from Northern Syria is being condemned¹ in both the Middle East and Washington.

Kurdish groups in Syria say they're being abandoned and Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell opposes the pullout.

The Nobel prize for Medicine goes to a British researcher and two Americans, including Harvard's Dr. William Kaelin. They were honored for their work that could develop new strategies to fight anemia², cancer and other diseases.

Talks to end a 21-day strike by the United Auto³ workers against General Motors have hit a snag over job security. Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer says she's concerned about the strike's impact on the state's economy.

Nearly two dozen scuba⁴ divers⁵ took part in an underwater pumpkin-carving contest off the Florida Keys. As they carved, they had to keep the naturally buoyant pumpkins⁶ from floating away.
