　　One of the most consoling aspects of animals – it might be a dog, a sheep, a lizard¹ or a beetle² – is that their priorities have nothing whatsoever³ to do with our own perilous⁵ and tortured agendas. They are redemptively unconcerned with everything we are and want.

　　动物们--不论是狗、羊、蜥蜴或者甲虫，最抚慰人心的其中一点就是：它们在意的事与我们本身要处理的那些恐怖又折腾人的事情完全无关。而很庆幸地是，它们也完全不在意我们是谁或我们想要什么。
