(单词翻译:双击或拖选)
The silver dollar, or the gold dollar, whatever they have called it..., ( the dollar coin) the coin dollar.
.. talk about a comeback, it's not been, unlike the torpedo1, (why?)the dollar ...Because dollar coins last longer. They last about 30 years, ('cause no one uses them, that's why they last longer)'cause nobody uses them. The almighty2 dollar itself, the, the dollar coin would last 16 times as long as it would last 30 years, so the Mint is introducing a new presidential series of dollars, which is gonna be like those state quarters which have done phenomenally well. In fact, the Mint would like you to think of this as the state quarter program. They are gonna introduce, starting in 2007, four presidents a year, it'll rotate around the presidents. And they are hoping that if people collect them, they'll get into them and they'll actually use them.
But people think they're quarters, that's the problem.
Right, that's the problem.
Well, they're making them bigger than quarters, and of course, they're like the Sacagawea, they will be bigger, they will be gold. Er…but it's all in the marketing3. You know, up in Canada, we use...er...dollar coins, and two dollar coins, they call them loonies and toonies.
Well, it's Canada.
That's... exactly.
Anyway...
You know, the, the subway only gives these out as change, obviously, (Right, where they're) and it's such a pain, (they are gonna try and give...) because you give them to people as quarters, and then all of a sudden you realized you've just handed to someone five bucks4, (you hand them, five bucks exactly) when you 're ready to give a dollar twenty five.
Well, they are gonna be, they are gonna feel different on the edges too; they'll have printing on the edges.
So hoping that's gonna work. I wanna tell you about Mercedes, you know, Consumer Reports, which many people read to buy their next car. Consumer Reports surveyed its 6 million subscribers about quality, and in the list of least, er, least reliable luxury cars, three of the six are Mercedes, (Wow!), the S-class, the CLS, and the E-class Sedan, the least reliable, ah, midsize SUV is the M-class. And of the eleven Mercedes reviewed by Consumer Reports, none of them are recommended, seven of them because of poor reliability5, and four of them because they are too new to ah, review. So Mercedes, not loving Consumer Reports right now.
And there is, there is kinda lashing6 back at "Consumer Reports" which doesn't take advertising7 , it's kind of, you know...
They are perceived as reliable and...(The Switzerland) the Switzerland of the auto8 world.
You hate to read that once you've spent 60 thousand dollars on your Mercedes, ouch.
Yeah, what else you get coming up?
I'm gonna talk about house prices again, when I come back the fact that the house prices are down a little bit, home sales are down across the country.
You just rub it in this one hour.
45 major cities, you might be in one of them where house prices are way down.
