New information out of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Marine1 Cpl. Cesar Armando Laurean is now the prime suspect in the murder of lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach. A body and a fetus2 were recovered from a shallow grave in Laurean's backyard Saturday. Lauterbach has been missing since last late December and was eight-month pregnant. Police say Lauterbach had accused Laurean of rape3.
President Bush wraps up the weekend in Abu dhabi, part of a five-nation trip to the Middle East. Saturday the president was welcomed to Bahrain. Before being treated toward Sudan, he praised Bahrain for holding for elections. Mr. Bush, the first sitting US President to visit the Persian Gulf4 Island.
The president also visited at Kuwait Saturday where he met with US commanders in Iraq and spoke5 to US troops. He says the US is on track to withdraw 30,000 troops by July but hold defer6 to General David Petraeus on further reductions.
Greenpeace is trying to stop suspected whalers. It's been tracking in the Antarctic Ocean. The environmental group located the whaling fleet after searching for more than a week. Greenpeace is warning it will take non-violent action to stop any whales from being killed. The most commercial whaling is banned. Japan operates on a loophole that does allow scientific research. Japanese whaling officials say they are doing nothing illegal.
Health officials are investigating a suspected norovirus outbreak in Oregon. They say nine residents of an assisted living center may have the virus. It is extremely contagious7 and it's resistant8 to anti-biotics. The sick residents have been isolated9 in their rooms. Seventeen suspected cases have also reported among members of a fraternity and sorority near the Oregon State University.
There was plenty of buzz around sold-out Hannah Montana concert in New York. In fact, it's one of the most popular stories on CNN.com. It seems Hannah who is 15, Miley Cyrus is her real name, briefly10 used a body double during a show. Several videos posted on Youtube shows the entertainer performing onstage. Now during one song, she disappears to a side door, another girl dressed like Hannah runs on the set and performs till the end of the song. Hannah's PR firm admits a double is used briefly to allow Miley to change costumes so she can reappear as herself.
