 January 12th,1991Just days before UN deadline,congress authorises the President George.W.Bush to use force to expell Iraq from Kuwait. The action taken by the US congress today is a very important step in hopefully getting Saddam Hussein to realize what he’s up against. Days later on American’s link coalition¹ launches operation desert storm which drives Saddam Hussein’s troops from Kuwait.

1945In the final months of the World Wars two, Soviet² forces begin a huge offensive against Nazi³ Germany in Eastern Europe.

1932Hattie Caraway of Arkansas becomes the first woman elected in the US senate. Caraway wins the special election to fill the last few months of her late husband’s term.

1976In Britian,mystery writer Agatha Christie whose works include murder on the Oriental Express ,dies at age 85.

And 1971All in the family premiers⁴ in CBS,the sitcom⁵ breaks new grounds indicating series topics on TV becoming wildly popular.
