 　　Lesson 5 Little Robin¹ Redbreast 第五课 小知更鸟

　　Little Robin Redbreast Sat upon a tree;  小小知更鸟 栖息在树上

　　Up went Pussy² Cat, And down went he.  猫咪爬上树他就飞下来.

　　Down came Pussy Cat, And away Robin ran;  猫咪下了树,小知更鸟早就飞走了；

　　Said little Robin Redbreast: Catch me if you can. 小知更鸟说：如果你能,就来抓我呀.

　　Little Robin Redbreast Hopped³ upon a wall; 小小知更鸟 墙头上雀跃；

　　Pussy Cat jumped after him, And almost got a fall. 猫咪跳着在后面追赶 差点摔一大跟头.

　　Little Robin chirped⁴ aloud; And what did Pussy say?  小小知更鸟在啁啾猫咪怎么叫?

　　Pussy Cat said "Mew;" And Robin flew away.  猫咪在叫"喵喵"；小知更鸟已飞走.

1 robin

4 chirped   

鸟叫，虫鸣( chirp的过去式 )
