　　Fire fighters² put out fires and save³ people's lives. 消防员能扑灭火灾，挽救人们的生命。

　　They also save people's houses and buildings, and protect⁴ the environment⁵. 他们也能保护人们的房屋建筑，也能保护环境。

　　Most fire fighters work more than 50 hours a week. 大多数消防员一周工作50多个小时。

　　Fire fighters get training⁶ at a special school. 消防员在特殊学校进行训练。
