　　These days we hear graphic design quite often. 近来我们经常能听到平面设计一词。

　　What is graphic design? 什么是平面设计？

　　It is the art of showing ideas. 它是展示想法的艺术。

　　Also, it is the art of tacks² and graphics³. 同时，它是技巧与图形的艺术。

　　Graphic design is a very practical art and popular one as well today. 平面设计是一种非常实用的艺术，现在也非常流行。

　　Where can it be seen easily? 我们能在哪儿看到平面设计？

　　It can be seen in logos, brochures, newspapers, posters, science, T-shirts, magazines, tickets and so on. 我们在商标、宣传册、报纸、海报、科学、T恤衫、杂志、票据等上面都能看到。

　　Traditional tools for graphic designer are pencils, markers, paints and other things. 平面设计的传统工具是铅笔、马克笔、绘画颜料和其他东西。

　　However, computers became the most important tool for graphic design from the mid⁴ 1980s. 但自19世纪80年代中期后，电脑成为平面设计最重要的工具。

1 graphic

4 mid
