tout 的意思是吹捧、大加赞扬。  

 

The majority of Democratic presidential candidates endorsed² proposals to stop climate change and called for banning fossil fuels, some even touted³ the idea of banning commercial air travel. 多数民主党总统候选人都支持阻止气候变化的提议，并呼吁禁止使用化石燃料，甚至有人大为赞同禁止商业性航空旅行。
