2. Prosecutors say one of the suspects in the alleged Russian spy ring confessed, saying he used a fake name and worked for Russia's intelligence service. The country also paid for his place of residence.
3. At least two people are dead in northern Mexico after drenching rains brought on by hurricane Alex. In Texas, officials reported no injuries or major damage. Alex is weakening to a tropical storm.
