[02:38.35]After delivering the envelope to Stela,Jennifer passed the open door of a deserted courtroom.
[02:43.66]She could not resist stepping inside the room for a moment.
[02:46.87]She was part of the system now and,standing there,Jennifer was filled with an overwhelming feeling of prid
[02:53.40]She would do everything she could to honor it,to help preserve it.She stood there for a long moment,then turned to leave.
[03:01.08]From the far end of the hall there was a distant hum than grew louder and louder,and became pandemonium.ALarm bells began to ring.Jennifer heard the sound of running feet in the corridor and saw policeman with drawn guns racing towards the front entrance of the courthouse.
[03:14.59]It was bedlam.Far down the hall,Jennifer saw the District Attorney Robert Di Silva ILdly issuing instructions to half a dozen policeman ,his face drained of color.
[03:24.90]She pushed her way through the crowd.As she approached,one of the deputies who had been guarding Stela looked up and saw Jennife
[03:32.11]He raised an arm and pointed to her,and five seconds later Jennifer Parker found herself being grabbed,handcuffed and placed under arrest.

[03:43.37]Judge Waldman informed Jennifer,"and you have the right to remain silent."

[03:51.42]Robert Di Silva was leaning so colse to her that Jennifer could see the throbbing of a vein in his templ
[03:57.11]"Who paid you to give that package to Camillo Stela?"

[04:03.75]Di Silva picked up a familiar looking Manila everlope from Judge Waldman's desk
[04:08.01]"No one paid you ?You just walked up to my witness and delivered this?"he shook the envelope and the body of a yellow canary fluttered onto the desk.Its neck had been broken.
[04:18.43]It's all a nightmare ,Jennifer thought.
[04:21.51]"Where do you stand ,Bobby?"asked Judge Waldman,"is Stela still willing to be cross-examined?"
[04:27.15]"Cross-examined? He's a basket case!Scared out of his wits.He won't take the stand again."
[04:33.68]Judge Waldman looked at Jennifer and said,"Whatever the motivation,the consequences have been extremely unfortunat
[04:40.56]I am going to request that the Appellate Division undertake an investigation and ,if it feels the circumstances warrant it,
[04:47.01]to begin disbarment proceedings against you."
