1. Elena Kagan has been confirmed as the 112th Supreme Court justice. She is the fourth woman to serve on the highest court. Kagan will replace another liberal justice recently retired John Paul Stevens.
2. Missouri officials are confirming two deaths after a crash involving two school busses, a semi tractor and a pickup. The busses were carrying high school band students to an amusement park west of St. Louis. State troopers say a girl on one of the busses and the driver of the pickup were killed.
3. Crews are pumping fresh cement into BP's blown-out oil well. A government's point man on the spill says it's not the end. But he says it will virtually assure that no more crude leaks into the Gulf of Mexico.
