3. In Colorado, crews prevent a wildfire from growing, despite winds gusting up to 75 miles per hour. It is burning in the foothills west of Denver.

4. Film legend Elizabeth Taylor dies at 79. Taylor passed away from congestive heart failure. She won three Academy Awards and was married eight times, twice to Richard Burton.
