1. Muammar Gaddafi has issued a defiant statement after two high-profile departures from his regime, and is calling on leaders of countries attacking his forces to resign. The Libyan news agency says Gaddafi accused Western leaders of warning to create another war between Muslims and Christians. 2. Officials with Japan’s crippled nuclear plant say the groundwater under one reactor has radiation levels 10,000 times greater than the government health standard. But a spokesman for Tokyo Electric Power says the company doesn’t believe drinking water is affected. 3. Powerful winds, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes have swept across the Tampa Bay region.
