 And a front in a trough is triggering patchy rain and isolated storms across western New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania while a high is keeping skies clear elsewhere except WA where a strong cold front is bringing showers and storms. 

 
Taking a close look at the states. Queensland can expect the mostly fine day with isolated showers about the east coast and some early morning fog between Cairns and Rockhampton. 
 
Patchy rain and isolated showers are expected for southeast New South Wales, the rest of the state will be partly cloudy with gusty northwesterly winds.
 
Victoria should see a generally mild and partly cloudy day with some morning fog and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. 
 
Patchy rain is expected for Tasmania. There'll be isolated thunderstorms in the west. 
 
Early morning fog should clear to a mostly fine day in South Australia. There's just the chance of thunderstorm in the far southeast. 
 
Western Australia can expect some heavy morning showers about the southern interior. And there's the chance of late thunderstorm about the south coast.
 
And it's looking mostly sunny in the northern Territory, apart from isolated showers about the northeast coast. And some fog patches over the Top End.
 
And looking ahead to tomorrow. Sydney, Brisbane and Darwin can expect fine mild conditions. A shower or two for Melbourne and Hobart. Partly cloudy in Adelaide. And there's more rain on the way for Perth.
