The cult classic '80s movie Dirty Dancing is getting remade. Film studio Lionsgate has confirmed it will produce a new version of the popular coming-of-age movie which starred the late Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Dirty Dancing won Oscars for best music and best original song. Ten million DVDs of the film have been sold and it inspired a hit international stage show. Kenny Ortega, the film’s original choreographer, will direct the remake. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has launched legal action against his wife’s family who he plans to sue for millions of dollars. The British Sunday Telegraph says Ramsay has filed a writ in the High Court which includes a series of claims against his wife’s father Chris Hutcheson. His father-in-law is a former CEO of Gordon Ramsay’s company and is accused of withdrawing around $2.2 million from the business to fund a double life with his mistress. The mother, sister, sister-in-law and the father’s alleged mistress have also been included in the claims. Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs has become the most successful touring exhibition in Australian history. The organisers of the exhibition say around 500,000 people have bought tickets since it opened in April. The National Geographic exhibition contains 130 Egyptian artefacts including 50 from King Tut’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings. |
