1. Nevada Republicans have decided not to move their state presidential caucuses after all. They had considered moving them from February 4th to January 14th to gain more influence on the race. However, they relented after the party threatened to penalize them. 2. Iraq's prime minister is providing some insight into what led the US to decide to withdraw all troops there this year. He says that decision was made only after Baghdad refused to grant US troops immunity from any prosecution.
3. Libya's new leaders will declare liberation on Sunday. Such a move following the death of Muammar Gadhafi will start the clock for elections and a transition to a democracy.
4. Saudi Arabia is in mourning following the death of the heir to the throne. Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud died in New York at the age of 80. Saudi rulers are expected to move quickly to name the new king-in-waiting. |
