2. The UN security council has voted unanimously to lift the no-fly zone over Libya on October 31st. The UN also end its authorization of military action to protect civilians.

 

 

 

3. Occupy Wall Street protesters in New York say a march Wednesday night included New York police officers punching a marcher and taking other actions to cause physical harm.

 

 

 

4. And Pope Benedict joined 300 others, Buddhist monks, Islamic scholars, Hindus in a communal call for peace. The meeting in Assisi commemorated the 25th anniversary of a day-long prayer for peace called by Pope John Paul II.
