A typhoon struck the southern Philippines last night,triggering flash flood and landslides.Official says at last 400 people were killed.They worried that figure is likely to rise because more people are missing.Entire village were swept into the sea while people were sleeping.Thousands of people have been forced from their homes.Rescue efforts are being hampered by flooded roads and a lack of electricity.

Russians are demonstrating again this weekend.They are claiming fraud in the parliamental elections held eariler this month.The turnout in Moscow is much smaller this week with protestors numbering in a hundredth followed by tens of thousands.They are calling for a new election,citing reports from local and international observers of irregularities and outright fraud.
