1. President Barack Obama is meeting with Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The two met for several hours at the White House with Iran's nuclear program being a major discussion point. Netanyahu said Israel is a sovereign nation with the right to defend itself. 2. Riot police in Moscow broke up an effort by protesters to occupy a downtown square. Dozens of people were arrested. They were challenging Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's victory yesterday in Russia's presidential election.
3. A blanket of wet snow is covering Henryville, Indiana and other parts of the region that was hit hard by Friday's tornadoes. A state official says 2-4 inches of snow will probably slow the clean-up effort. The storms that devastated parts of five states claimed 39 lives.
4. A double-headed tortoise born five years ago in a zoo in Ukraine was on display in an exhibition at the Kiev science museum. The Central Asian Steppe tortoise has two heads, six legs, two hearts and two lungs, but only one tail and one stomach. |
