A low and a trough are triggering heavy rain in Tasmania, as well as rain and storms in Victoria, South Australia, southern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Another trough in the west is producing widespread storms in eastern and northern WA. And a high is keeping northern New South Wales and Queensland mostly dry.

It will be warm and mostly sunny in Queensland's east, hot in the west with showers and storms.

 

In New South Wales, warm and mostly sunny in the north and east. And showers and storms in the south and west will spread.

 

Victoria can expect widespread showers and thunderstorms, a cool southwesterly change arriving later.

 

In Tasmania, rain and storms expected mostly in the north, and cooler with westerlies developing.

 

It'll be warm in South Australia with storms in the north and east, cooler southwesterly winds and showers in the south.

 

Dry and mostly sunny in the WA's west and interior, storms in the state's north and isolated showers on the south coast.

 

Scattered showers and storms throughout the Northern Territory, hot in the north and southerlies developing in the south.
