2. Pakistan's government has called for a day of peaceful protests. But at least 17 people died in demonstrations against the anti-Muslim film produced in the US. Police used tear gas and live ammunition against protesters who threw rocks and set fire to buildings. 

 

 

 

3. An armed man who took a hostage inside this downtown Pittsburgh office building has surrendered. Police say the suspect gave himself up after posting Facebook updates during the standoff saying he had "lost everything".

 

 

 

4. And Apple fans jammed shops across the globe to pick up the latest iPhone. Eager buyers formed long lines at Apple stores in Asia, Europe and North America, all to be the first to get their hands on the latest version of the smartphone.
