Daniel: My Mom and I sometimes goes to the “Food Market”together. I’ve learnt something about vegetables in school but when it comes to the real thing, it’s not so easy for me to tell their exact names. Mom would help me with them. She’d make a great teacher I think. 丹尼尔刚在学校学会了一些果蔬和肉类的表达，但很多果蔬他以前并没有见过。恰好妈妈要去菜场，他央求妈妈带他一起去买菜，这下倒可以看看他学得怎么样了。

Daniel：Mom, where are you going?
丹尼尔：妈妈，你要去哪里？
Mom：I am going to buy some food to cook supper.
妈妈： 我正要去买菜做晚饭。
Daniel：Good. I wanna go with you.
丹尼尔：太好了，我想和你一起去。
Mom：How strange! Our little emperor now asks to help out with shopping.
妈妈： 真奇怪！ 我们家的小皇帝主动要求去买菜。
Daniel：We learnt about vegetables and meat at school. But I never see the real thing.
丹尼尔： 我们刚在学校里学了很多蔬菜和肉， 但是很多我从没见过。
Mom：Wow, that’s something new. Let’s go!
妈妈： 哦，真新鲜。 那我们出发吧！
(Daniel and mother enter the food market)
（丹尼尔和妈妈一起走进了菜场）
(Mom points to the spinage and asks.)
（妈妈指着菠菜问）
Mom：What’s this, honey?
妈妈： 知道这是什么吗，宝贝？
(Daniel thinks over for a while)
（丹尼尔想了一会）
Daniel：Er, is it cabbage?
丹尼尔：呃，是卷心菜吗？
Mom：Cabbage? Is that what they teach at school now? Ok, honey, it’s spinage.
妈妈： 卷心菜？ 这就是现在学校教的东西吗？ 好了，孩子，这是菠菜。
Daniel： Yeah, I know, this is Popeye’s favorite food.
丹尼尔： 哦，我知道了，原来这就是大力水手最喜欢的食物呀！
Mom：There we go.
妈妈： 我们走吧。
Daniel：Mom, come here. I know this, it is carrot, am I right?
丹尼尔：妈妈，来这边。 我认识这个，是胡萝卜对吗？
Mom：Bingo! It’s dark outside, let’s hurry up.
妈妈： 答对了！外面天已经黑了，我们快点吧。
