2. Floods and landslides swept across Mexico, killing at least 97 people, not counting those missing in the remote mountain village of La Pintada on the outskirts of Acapulco. Some 35,000 homes across the country were damaged or destroyed.

 

 

 

3. The Colorado National Guard says the motto is "no pets are left behind" as they evacuate people from the raging floodwaters. Hundreds of pets have been ferried to safety with their owners via helicopter or rescued in ground operations.

 

 

 

4. Thousands of people lined the shores of Taiwan's largest harbor to cheer the arrival of a massive yellow rubber duck. Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman is taking his creation around the world to spread a massage of happiness. It will be heading to the US soon.
