Another New Zealand dairy product exported to China has been found to have excessive levels of nitrates. Lactoferrin powder, a multifunctional protein produced by New Zealand’s second largest dairy company Westland Milk, was temporarily banned from being imported.

This comes after two batches of the product were found to have elevated levels of nitrates. 390 kilogrammes of the powder was imported to China as an ingredient in other products. But it has not reached consumers yet.
