Officials in Northwest China’s Shaanxi province are warning local people to avoid walking through fields and wooded areas following a series of deadly hornet attacks.
近日，中国陕西连续发生几起巨蜂蛰死人的恶性事件。当地相关部门发布预警，提醒当地人不要在田间和树木繁茂的区域内行走。
The thumb-sized hornets, known as Asian Giant Hornets, have already caused the deaths of at least 28 people and serious injury to hundreds more in southern part of Shaanxi province. Most of the attacks have taken place in remote rural areas.
这种被称为亚洲巨蜂的大黄蜂有的人类拇指大小，而且已经致使陕西南部地区至少28人被蛰身亡，100多人重伤。大多数大黄蜂袭人事件发生在偏远农村。
The Asian Giant Hornet is the world’s largest hornet. It can grow up to more than 5 centimeters in length, and delivers a venom containing a potent neurotoxin. Doctors warn that anyone who has been stung more than 30 times should seek immediate emergency treatment.
亚洲巨蜂是世界上最大的黄蜂。它可以长至5厘米多长，其释放的毒液含有一种神经毒素。医生提醒，任何人如果被大黄蜂叮蛰超过30次，应立即寻求急诊救护。
