访谈录 2013-10-08&10-10 道格拉斯探狱中儿子遭拒 为儿争人权(在线收听) |
A very public plea center stage at the Emmys by Michael Douglas, saying he wants to see his son. Cameron Douglas is behind bars right now for dealing drugs, and his father used his Emmy win to speak out against the American prison system. ABC’s Cecelia Vega has the story. (And the only reason that I’m saying this) From one of the funniest acceptance speeches on stage, (You’re at the bottom or the top,) to one of the most personal moments back stage, Michael Douglas fresh up his best lead actor Emmy win for playing Liberace made a frustrated plea to see his son Cameron, serving a 9.5-year federal prison sentence for drugs.
Obviously at first, I was certainly disappointed with my son. But it reached a point now I’m very, very disappointed with the system.
At 34, Cameron is Douglas’ oldest child and has a long-running battle with addiction. He’s serving time in Maryland for distribution and possession and he also pleaded guilty to possessing drugs while behind bars. Prison officials would not say whether Cameron is in solitary confinement, and therefore not allowed family visits. But his famous father wouldn’t hold back at Sunday’s award show.
He spent almost 2 years in solitary confinement and right now I’ve been told that I cannot see him for 2 years, it’s over a year now, and I’m questioning the system.
Hollywood watchers call it classic Michael Douglas,
He really does want to see his son, he’s somebody who’s not shy about making known what he wants and hopefully pursuing that.
It’s not the first time the actor has talked publicly about what he considers to be an excessive sentence for a non-violent drug offender; he also talked openly about it to Elizabeth Vargas earlier this year.
You did say recently in an interview that you thought that he was getting punished a little bit because of his last name.
He received the longest sentence in the history of the American penal system for having drugs that in prison. And his case was a minor slip, so we are trying to understand how they justified it.
One father hoping to make a difference, (Hoping that I’ll be able to, they’ll allow me to see him soon.), a father with a very public stage.
For good morning America, Cecilia Vega, ABC news, los Angeles.
I do wish him the best. Cameron Douglas is due to be released from prison in 2018.
[In reply to some people’s questions:
Cheek kissing(in French called Bisous) is very common in Southern, Central and Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East and Latin America. It is not as common in English-speaking Canada and the United States, Asia and Northern Europe. However, there are some exceptions in North America, including ethnic neighborhoods, such as Italian, French, or Hispanic neighborhoods, as well as Quebec, Louisiana and Miami.
Depending on the local culture, cheek kissing may be considered appropriate among family members as well as friends and acquaintances: a man and a woman, two women, or two men. The last is socially accepted in many cultures where cheek kissing is prevalent, with exceptions, particularly in portions of Latin America.
按不同地域文化,贴面礼适用于家庭成员、朋友和熟人之间:男女之间、两女、两男之间均可。流行贴面礼的很多文化群体都接受男人之间行贴面礼,但也有例外,尤其是拉美的部分地区。] |
