There's to be a changing at the guard at the top of Microsoft. The technology company has announced that Satya Nadella will be its next chief executive. Indian-born Mr. Nadella is currently Microsoft's head of Cloud, an enterprise which builds and runs the firm's computing platforms and developed tools. Microsoft's founder Bill Gates is also stepping down as chairman and will take up a new role as technology adviser. He'll be replaced by the company's lead independent director John Thompson.
Toyota is forecasting record profits as a weak yen helps to boost oversea sales. The Japanese carmaker says it expects operating profits to reach just slightly more than 23.5 billion dollars for the financial year ending in March. Toyota posted better-than-expected earnings for the third quarter.
The carmaker sold almost 10 million vehicles in 2013 and that was about 270,000 more than its closest rival General Motors.
Let's check the markets and the stocks in the US rebounded after yesterday posting its biggest one-day fall in seven months. In London overnight, the FTSE was down slightly.
