The founder, Chief Executive of Australia's third biggest Internet company iiNet is leaving after 20 years with the firm. Michael Malone made the decision while on a period of extended leave that began late last year. Mr. Malone founded iiNet in his parents' garage in Perth in 1993. David Buckingham will continue to act as his chief executive until a new boss is found after an international search for Mr. Malone's replacement.
 
The Finance Sector Union says wealth management company AMP is about to slash hundreds of jobs in its Melbourne office. The Union's secretary says the company's Dockland office will be reduced from five floors to one. The jobs are expected to be moved to India. The cuts were also impact(ing) people employed at the company's Parramatta office in Sydney.
