ew satellite images have identified 122 distinct objects in the southern Indian Ocean and they could be debris from Malaysian Airlines flight 370. Some of the objects are more than 20 meters long, and have been spotted in a 400-square-kilometer area of ocean. More bad storms are likely, however, to hamper the search today. Police are looking for four men after a double shooting in the western Sydney overnight. Two men were shot at a patrol station in Maryland in a suspected armed robbery. A man in his 50s was shot in the side of the chest and is in a critical condition. A twenty-year-old man has four gunshot wounds to his stomach and his arm.
Lachlan Murdoch is returning to a new role at the top of his father’s media empire. Mr. Murdoch has resigned from Network Ten to become co-chairman of News Corp. and 21st Century Fox. His brother James has also been given a promotion.
Labor says selling Medibank Private will cost the government up to half a billion dollars a year in dividends. The Federal Government says it intends to sell the health insurer in a public float next financial year.
