Hello, Milles Hamilton with the top stories on ABC News. Advocates for the disabled have protested outside the ABC in Melbourne today, demanding the Ramp Up online website be restored. Ramp Up was axed earlier this month after 3.5 years of operations. Advocates say it gave the disabled an important mainstream voice. About 20 men and women staged a brief protest, arguing that the site should be part of the ABC's core operations. Some protesters moved inside the ABC, but offered to leave when the police arrived.
The Australian defense force bishop has stood aside after he was charged with a child sex offense which allegedly occurred more than 40 years ago. Bishop Mike Steverse has been charged with three counts of indecently treatment of children under 14. He denies the allegations and has stood aside while being dealt with. The offenses are allegedly have occurred when he was a teacher at St Benedict College in the west Australian town of Minocher before he was ordained.
A court in South Africa has been told that Oscar Pistorius is in bid to stand a trial for murder. The paralympian has just returned to the dock(被告席) after a month-long assessment of his mental health.
