Beijing is home to an extensive seventeen line subway system. But although the system is the biggest it’s ever been, in many people’s eyes, it’s still not big enough for Beijing.

Q1, The subway ticket price was actually higher than 2 yuan, until 2007 when the government lowered it to 2 yuan in an attempt to ease road traffic and improve air quality. Will the price rise worsen road traffic?

Q2, Many say it’s part of Beijing’s move to control the population by increasing the cost of living the city? How do you comment on that?
